It's been mostly cookbooks and craft books this week. Yes, I read cookbooks. I love the authors commentaries on recipes and their introductions and even reading the how tos of putting together the dishes. :)
1. The Art of American Indian Cooking by Yeffe Kimball & Jean Anderson
2. Fragrant Harbor Taste: The New Chinese Cooking of Hong Kong by Ken Hom
note: bought this from a library book sale because the first two pages I glanced at had recipes for Lamb stir fry (Reuben and I both adore good lamb dishes) and a chicken curry stew one. upon further reading there look to be some other very good dishes that shouldn't be too hard to make.
3. From the Earth: Chinese Vegitarian Cooking by Eileen Yin-Fei Lo
4. The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook by Tom Lacalamita
5. Magic Beans: 150 bean recipes by Patti Bazel Geil
6. Omiyage by Kumiko Sudo
note: I have fallen in love with this craft book and need a copy of my own (currently borrowing from the library). Some of these projects are way above my current sewing skills, but they are extremely neat and the few I have played around with I have loved the results for.
Also, Started the first Otherlands book by Tad Williams.
The to be read pile has swelled recently. Have Cryptomnicron and Quicksilver to look forwards to reading, as well as the latest Earth's Children book by Jean Auel (which means re reading the series it's been so long since I read them last and the book has been in waiting for mode since high school), and the rest of the Otherlands series. I'm not allowed to check fiction out from the library any time soonish :)
