So yesterday I turned a quarter of a century old. And you know what I don't feel 25. In fact, If you are only as old as you feel Then I'm still in my teens most days :)
But it started off wonderfully with waking up to a gift of a King David's Harp (also known as a lyre harp). Proceeded with lots of emails and lj birthday greetings. Followed by much running around downtown to pick up a library book from
satanicmechanic and to the main library to renew it, and return books.
This trip served also as a "breaking in some boots" trip as I bought them last year and never properly broke them in, hence have never worn them because of it. But now I have blisters on my heels, as the shoes started off being too narrow across the front of my feet, and too large at the heels. Why is it that my feet end up hating any new pair of shoes, even if they were already broken in, and I just hadn't worn them in a while?
Anyways, my birthday then finished up with and adventure for "yummy thai food". As we had forgotten to check the cubs schedule, and were headed for the Classic Thai restaurant on Clark and Roscoe, of course, there was a night game going on. We contemplated finding my sister (as she was meeting us there) and driving to another good Thai restauant up in Evenston, but upon the third time of circling around the parking fates were kind and gave us a metered spot right in front of the "punkin donughnuts". From there it was a quick walk to the restaurant, and introducing my sister to Thai food (as she was really young when our dad would take us out for it). I had coffee for the first time in forever (as Thai iced coffee is one of the few coffee drinks I will drink), and yummy food along with good conversation proceeded.
It was much fun.
no birthday cake, but then again I don't need cake *g*

on 2003-08-13 08:26 am (UTC)every year my mom says "lets go out to dinner" and every year we end up in some loud crowded place. So this was nice as it's a small quit place to eat even given it's proximity to all the Belmont and Clark shopping...
OMG! I totally forgot...
