We have curtains in our skylights!
After a year of one of my woven mexican blankets being up as temporary light blocker in the main room, we have reall curtains. My mom made them as she saw how bad the apartment would get heat wise without anything, and how super light it was (the bed is directly under a skylight). So she sewed us nifty curtains using a light blocking material as backing and a muted grey and white sunflower print fabric (the sunflowers are darker grey line drawings - I need to see if she saved the scraps of that project) and 5 wooden dowels, some plastic rails and a magnet to hold it closed at the top (so we can open them if we want to).
The main room is done, and the kitchen is waiting on a new dowel (I cut one to short) and a magnet (mom misplaced the second one).
Now I need to start working on the piles of junk, and getting rid of stuff and finding put away homes for it.
Someday the apartment might be clean enough to take pictures to show people where we live ;P
