Reuben surprised me with a gift last night.

It was a gift box edition version of The Fellowship of the rings. It had the 4 dvd set plus a 5th dvd of a National Geographic special on the film, Sculptures of the Argonath (Bookends?), plus things like a free ticket to the Two Towers, trading cards and a trial membership to the fan club.

And of course we haven't watched it yet as both of us have gotten ourselves involved with playing the game Europa 1400: The Guilds.

I think I surprised him too. I stopped in at the Borders a couple miles from home to pick up an application (If I'm going to work retail, I'm going to work someplace I would enjoy)and picked up a copy of _the Mona Lisa Overdrive_ by William Gibson for him. I've been trying to get him to read Gibson for awhile, as I think He is going to really enjoy the writing style.

If people ask me what He wants for Christmas I think I'm going to tell them to get him books by William Gibson *g*

Also, I had a very odd dream that dealt with meeting a bunch of freaks at the Ren. faire and people dissapearing at random. I need to start writing down details as I wake up.

Also, Jim I'll find out about the crib and stuff tonight most likely.

So neither Reuben or I thought to buy the hard cover versions of the Dune house series (_Dune: House Atredies_,_Dune: House Harkonen_, and _Dune: House Corrino_) when they first were released. Reuben picked up the audio versions (read by Tim Curry no less), and I was borrowing them from the library. So now, we would like to get nice Hardcover versions to go with the copy of _The Butlarian Jihad_ we picked up a couple months back and They are proving impossible to find. The Barnes and Noble website has _House Harkonen_ Listed with a selling price of $5.99 for a hardcover version, but only stocks paperback versions of _House Corrino_ and _House Atredies_. Meanwhile, checking the otheer sites I've been known to frequent for used books results in findings of Hardcover copies of both, with prices of $40 and up.

GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Meanwhile I want to get this as a gift for Reuben as I know he would majorly appreciate it. The normal version is his favorite board game.
