I got paid Saturday.

I balanced my checkbook today and now have less than $10 in my checking account *boogle*

I need a real job. One that pays more than $98 for two weeks working...

Hah! I'd love to be one of the interns at This American Life But I'm not sure My application would even be picked (Need to finish answering those questions for the summer term.

I just want to learn more about radio production in a hands on experience.

I miss WEFT so much. I miss sleeping away my Sunday afternoons to be at the station at midnight for a show from 2 am untill 5am. I miss babysitting the Loafer's Glory minidisk untill the morning show at 6 am. Hell, I even miss going directly from the radio station to an eight hour work day.

It's just sad that most of the stations up here that aren't commercial stations are college affiliated, and not community stations. I want to get involved in the inner workings of a radio station again.

Even if it is only doing data entry for the local NPR affiliated station in the city...

But also, I WANT WORK!!!

Some more independant radio type stuff. Lyrics off of the new Tom Petty album:

Last DJ by Tom Petty

Well you can’t turn him into a company man
You can’t turn him into a whore
And the boys upstairs just don’t understand anymore
Well the top brass don’t like him talking so much
And he won’t play what they say to play
And he don’t want to change what don’t need to change
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
There goes the last DJ
Well some folks say they’re gonna hang him so high
Because you just can’t do what he did
There’s some things you just can’t put in the minds of those kids
As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see
How much you’ll pay for what you used to get for free
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJ
Well he got him a station down in Mexico
And sometimes it will kinda come in
And I’ll bust a move and remember how it was back then
There goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJ
