why livejournal?
Oct. 16th, 2001 05:28 pmAfter read ing Casey's entry of a few days ago, i'm starting to wonder what it is about thos program that is so drawing to me.
I still keep a paper journal, in which I wrestle with important descisions that I can't share with others. I know that I could put it up as a locked entry on here, but it's more comforting to have pen in hand and journal spread out in front of me. I found journals from my last year in h.s and the first two years in college from before i started getting too depressed to write, and i hoard those. It would on average take between three and six months to fill out a spiral notebook of 120 pages. It's been three years on the one that I have currently, and that started out as a sketch book.
Maybe it's the ease of which I can get things down? If I'm at work it's so much easier to run to a 'puter, and jot down thoughts as opposed to writing them down and then transplanting them into the journal, and trying to nurture those thoughts into seedlings from the seeds i had captured earlier.
And in a way, I like being able to share my writing with others. I tryed doing this on my own, and was horrid about updating stuff. I had a Blogger account that was supposed to send everything to my site, but it never seemed to work correctly. *sigh* I just don't know...
it makes life a bit easier, but sometimes I wonder.
Meanwhile I like the fact that livejournal has become invite only if you want a free account, but I've two friends who really want to open accounts, and I can't help them as I don't have an invite code that I can give either of them....
