(no subject)

Last night, after driving Billie over to her boy friends, I found something cool.

I was walking around the yard, checking out the plants, and As I looked at the hole neatly dug into the ground under the tree (we have a circle of non grass area with shade loving flowers in it at the base of the tree) I saw a little dirt covered disk. Upon taking it upstairs and cleaning off as much of the dirt as I could, I discovered that it is a "wheat" penny (the ones with the leaves on the back) and the date on it is 1929.

I have never found anythiong that old in the ground before, though there have been coins found in neighboring lawns that dated to the turn of the century.

It made me smile :)

Now we can sing that song from the movie "Wakko's Wish"! ^_~

Wakko: Oh I got a Hay Penny!
Townspeople: He's got a Hay Penny!...

Nifty. We always called them wheat or wheat ear pennies.
Hay pennies were something British (half pennies).

blame my brain being foggy and pulling the wrong name out of it while writing....

I hate having brain foggy days.

I knew it was a "wheat penny" as my mom and and two uncles collect them....

I grew up knowing them as just wheat pennies. I had never heard Wheat eared untill you mentioned it :)

If you end up getting that song stuck in my head, I will find a way to get out there and torture you....

Seriously though, I had the Freakazoid theme in my head for most of last week. Currently it's one of the songs from the Wild Arms game

Runs around in underwear, FREAKAZOID! FREAKAZOID! *LOL* Now that's song in MY HEAD!

I miss those episodes. I never got a chance to watch them all since cartoon network airs those in the early afternoon (while I'm at work.) I seriously need to find a way to telecommute. ^_^
